Heaven
So, my mother's dying. She lives in America and I live in Estonia. I'm not so much upset that she will die some day (won't we all?) as that I am not there with her while she is in the process.
Anyway, these two choruses from my childhood came to mind today, and I thought I'd share them:
Away far over Jordan
We'll meet in that land
Oh, won't that be grand
Away far over Jordan
We'll meet in that beautiful land, so grand
If you get there before I do
Look out for me
I'm coming too
Away far over Jordan
We'll meet in that beautiful land, so grand
I hope you can picture the kids doing the motions to this song!
I've got a mansion just over the hilltop
In that fair land where we'll never grow old
And some day yonder
My spirit will wander
Upon the streets that
Are purest gold
We used to sing this song while climbing up Munjoy Hill!
