Six Months

It was about six months ago that I was told that my mother had six months ("to two years"!) to live.

I feel like I am just now staring to come out of the fog I have been in for the past six months. (She died two months ago today.)

It is hard to plant a corps when you cannot think clearly!

I am usually the planner of the family, and so this has taken a toll on our work.

Thank God that "he will remain faithful" (2 Timothy 2:13)!

Evelyn

I know He will be faithful and believe you will be too. In prayer...

Hi. Can I send you huge hug via this comment? Having known the pain of losing my mother, I can empathize (although I can't know exactly how you feel because of different circumstances). Please know that you and your family are in my prayers. They say time heals all wounds...but it's only God that does it, when we allow Him to. Can I leave you with a verse or two? 2 Cor. 1:3-4 says: "All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us."

Also, as each milestone and date that has significance approaches, allow yourself to work through the emotions of that day...because I can tell you from experience, if you just push it down, it makes the next time that milestone/date comes around all the more difficult to face.

I hope I don't sound like I'm preaching to you, or have offended you. Just putting 2 Cor. 1:3-4 into practice.

With love and prayers,
Mary

P.S. Please pass my congratulations on to Chris for winning the YS Creativity contest! Excellent writing job!
