Belleville, New Jersey -- and Christmas Bells
Tonight we prayed for Belleville, New Jersey -- the town where Tim and I lived when we were first married, and where Christopher was born. It is at Exit 149 of the Garden State Parkway, as the other cadets in our brigade were often reminded of when we would go to the New Brunswick Corps!
A few years ago, we had "Bells" as the theme of our After-Christmas Thank-You Dinner at the Chester Corps. There are lots of Christmas songs and poems about bells. I also used the following verse as a little devotional:
ZEC 14:20 On that day HOLY TO THE LORD will be inscribed on the bells of the horses, and the cooking pots in the LORD's house will be like the sacred bowls in front of the altar. 21 Every pot in Jerusalem and Judah will be holy to the LORD Almighty....
