Christmas Party in Tallinn

"This was my situation: The heat consumed me in the daytime and the cold at night, and sleep fled from my eyes." (Genesis 31:40)

Today all the officers' families from Estonia got together for a Christmas party in Tallinn. It takes over two hours to get there, and today the weather was snowy on the way there, slowing us down a bit. But we had a good time, and it is always good to be with our comrades!

But it was so hot in the Kopli Corps building! I think they cannot control their heat; they do not own the whole building, only a small part of it (first floor and some offices). I was dressed as I often dress nowadays: two turtlenecks, long johns, etc.!

We just got home, and our fire wasn't lit today because we left for Tallinn this morning. So the house is cold! It is NOT colder in Estonia than it is in Maine, but it does feel like that sometimes because we don't have central heating.

Tonight we will pray for the Dayton Central Corps. I worked there for a year before going to THQ (thanks for helping me find that Lit. Dept. job, Carole!). Then we were there for our Spring Campaign in 2001.

Sorry, I'm way too tired to even try to write anything remotely interesting tonight!

But there is a situation that God knows all about that we would beg you to pray for. The usual stuff: pray that God's will would be done, that we would be obedient and patient, that we would have wisdom. Thanks!

Evelyn
