"We're trying to save sinners."
excerpted from http://www.armybarmy.com/blog.html
on our church envy:We're trying to save sinners. Sinners have voted with their feet that they don't like church. I think the current stat is 74% of Americans don't go. If we're trying to reach the people who don't like church, why on earth would we identify with church? If they don't like ... 'pastors' why on earth would you call yourself one (especially since you aren't one)? What you consider a difficulty is an excellent opportunity to define ourselves accurately- heroically and romantically - and in so doing attract some of the 74% in USA who don't like church and pastors. It seems like people are interested in revolutionary causes
Man, he (almost!) always says what I'm thinking, but WAY better than I could ever say it! That's what friends are for, eh? ;-) Let the churches fight for the 26% and we've got the 74% all to ourselves! :-)
